Scheduled tribes form one of the most backward sections of the country. Though there has been a gradual increase in their literacy rates since independence, the present position is far from satisfactory. To find the academic problems of tribal students in Kollihills, Namakkal District at the higher secondary level with reference to Gender, Age. Class of study, Group, Birth order and Family size.
The investigator has used survey method in the present study. This involves conducting interviews and administering tests questionnaires, inventories or observation schedule.The questionnaire was designed under five dimensions such as a) Content, (b) Teaching, (c) Teacher Behaviour, (d) School Resources, and (e) Home Condition.Based on the analysis suitable findings and suggestions were drawn.
