Lifestyle is the habits, attitudes, tastes, and moral standards, economic level that together constitute the mode of living of an individual or group. Lifestyle of people has changed according to times. Lifestyle affects sleep pattern, eating pattern and overall living style of an individual. When quality of sleep is disturbed it affects mindfulness of a person. Mindfulness means maintaining moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment. This study has been taken up to assess sleep quality and mindfulness in relation to lifestyle To evaluate sleep quality in relation to lifestyle, the Pittsburgh Sleep quality index (PSQI) was used to assess sleep quality and mindfulness. The purpose of the present study was to assess the Quality of sleep and Mindfulness in healthy volunteers. Sixty-two healthy volunteers s with an age range from 29-31 yrs from one month Residential yoga program were enrolled in the study. All the healthy volunteers were given a combination of IAYT practices like asana, Kriya, pranayama, relaxation practices, and meditation classes and devotional sessions for a period of thirty days. Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Mindfulness Questionnaire were administered to the participants before and after the intervention were given. Quality of sleep and Mindfulness improved by yoga practice which includes asana, pranayama, meditation, loosing exercise etc. in deferent non communicable diseases increase the mindfulness or awareness is the aim of yoga practices. The study show that continues practices of yoga improve Mindfulness, relaxation and reduces the negative emotions. And also increase the well being and reduction in cardiovascular diseases. However mindfulness studies suggest that the more one piracies yoga the mindfulness and attention will be improved. So it can be concluding that One Month Intensive Yoga Program help in giving better quality of sleep and Mindfulness in the Practitioners.
